today is the last day of P1 le, and the day of the screening of everyone works at LT 24.
had a really great laugh and fun watched all those video, seeing the familar faces.
there's impressive video, great work and editing, humorous and funny parts here and there, nice camera angle, professional video and some was alright.

our video was failed to play due to some problems which i dont really know, i was quite disappointed and stunned when our video did not played.
but it's alright because it doesn't affect our marks (:
seeing other's video make me think that our video is not well done, if a chance is given, i will plan my time management nicely for everything and always finish it by the given timing, and brush up my editing skill and such.

will learn from my mistake and improve the next time.

anyway, the video which make got me impressive was, cheryl's, xian ming's, ming han's, brian's and rowell's groups.

cheryl's video was simple yet great, humorous, and clearly shown everything that the message they want to express.
xian ming's video was had nice animation, funny and really nice to watch.
ming han's video has some emotional in it, carmera angles was nice, and very funny :) nice video yea.
brian's video has really great animation and editing skill, which really make me impressed by it, and i can see their effort, example going to forest to film!
rowell's groups give me a really very professional looks, great scenes, and effort can be seen. but just that the MTV part was alright only.

the only group which are not that well done was haowei's group, as i think they got the wrong thinking of what's director's cut should be. the whole video was quite bored with the long speech and cant see much meaning it. i guess they too focus on "the director".

so that's all of my thought for today.

today was the last day of the P1 (: !
meet up with group mate at 11am, at first there was some problems in the flash but we managed to solve it! did the final editing in the flash again before exporting.

i felt that that the animation can be done better due to lack of time:(
and exporting seriously take us a lot of time.
finally, we import to premier pro and do the audio, subtitles, and voice editing.
we also import all the works we had done on the after effect in our videos, edmund forget to do some parts, but it's alright :D i went to do the uncompleted part as fast as possible.

after finished all the editing and cutting, we started to render and export.
but there were many errors even before exporting, wanted to export as quick time but some errors pop up. Third times was success, but when it was half rendering, an error pop up and everything were closed again. after that we failed to export as quick time and so we export as AVI.
no idea why exporting as AVI is able, but unable as quick time :( but it's alright as wahidah said no problem.

finally, we managed to exporting everything in about 45mins and so, and then the whole 3d animation lab black out right after i export.
was quite pissed off as i had not burn into a disc yet, but come to think i was lucky enough that it did not black when i was half way rendering :)
waited for the electricity to come back and we burn it into the disc :)

only managed to hand up at 6pm plus.
really hope wahidah won't deduct our marks!

so this will be last post for this blog, this two months working with your guys, nadiah and edmund was really a memorable times, and there was always good laugh among us :)
everyone are so cooperate and do the best in our part, no quarreling between us, willing to listen to each other ideas, giving in and correct each mistakes :D
although i think that the video is not as nice as what we expected, and some mistakes here and there, but at least we know we had done our very best in everything we do! :)
never regret working with your guys!

This thursday will be the submission already. Even though stressed, we are getting closer and closer to witness our final product for these two months.

In fact, we had done most of the work and left the editing. We started adding animation in the video but not done yet. So for wednesday we have to rush our animation so that we can start adding all the sound effects that we have found.

We can do it! All The Best Smarties! It's the last lap!=D

Today we had our consultation with Wahidah and she gave us comments that some parts of our video was too draggy. We have taken her advises into consideration and we will edit the parts which she have suggested to change. Today was a productive day as we had done our voice over and we are in the process of doing our animation for our video. Once the animation is completed by Yilin, we can import it into our video and add in final touches and we are ready to go.


wednesday 18032009

yesterday we had our re shoot of night scene done, this time we brought small lights so that the night scene will be brighter. Alex came to help us using his flash light on his hand phone! It was very bright and did helped us a lot (:
the only bad thing was some guys came along and make a lot of noise, end up their sounds can be heard in our video. we will try to use audacity to do the noise removal!

Edmund's great acting skill really make our video more interesting and funny, and everything go smoothly without much NG (: but still there are some mistake, like unnecessary things can be seen in the video, and so we had to retake some of the scenes.
we managed to finish everything in three hours by cooperating with each other well :D

great job Edmund and nadiah!

today
we have consultation with wahidah, and she commented our night scene are much more better.
we also learned that everything must be out of frame to inside the frame and to out of frame again.
means that must from out to in and out again, so that when editing, it will be able to flow well.

so later we went back and nadiah import everything to premier pro, while me and Edmund were doing the some part of editing using after effects.
after everything was import, we sat together and edit.
we discussed and each do a part in helping the editing. although some misconception in between, but almost everything were solved.
we finished putting everything in order and edited every correct scenes by 7pm+.

Ytd was the day we had our interim 2. Before that, we faced problem like cannot export the proj work into video. In the end, thanks to my friend, Peiwen, we managed to export the video. Thanks Peiwen!=)

The presentation began at 12.30pm. We were the fourth group to present. We were quite depressed at the beginning because we have not really edit our video and our rough cut is not really done yet. When it's our turn, we played the video and received a few comments. Wahidah mentioned the same problems that she told us earlier when we consulted her and one of the problems is the sound. She mentioned that for our video, sound is the main problem because our audio is really too soft.

The next problem is the night scene that we have taken. It is too dark as we did not set up any lights when we were shooting at that time. Also, we did not set up the volume too as that was the first time we used the video camera. Not only Wahidah, some of my classmates gave suggestions on the night scenes and suggest that we set the exposure higher. They also believe that we should re-shoot the night scene.

We will be meeting Wahidah for consultation tomorrow. Later on at 7.15, we will be at Bedok Reservoir to film our night scenes. This time round, I believe we will do a better job as we had experience before that already.

I really hope that we will be able to finish all the work and edit the video well. We still left a few more days and I know it will be tiring. But I hope that we will strive hard for the last few days and produce a good work.

Today we went to hereafter and we transferred our video from the vid cam to Nadiah's mac. It took close to an hour for the whole thing to transfer finish. We found out that the sound is quite soft and maybe we need to set the contrast for the video too.

We went to consult Wahidah and her comment about the video is also the same as what we predicted. Monday we will start editing our video and prepare for Interim 2 on tue!

Ytd we intend to film the introduction of 2D/3D arts and digital photography. Before that, we went to find Mr Ronald hoping to get our 2D arts work back for filming purpose. However, we did not manage to see him in sch.

Therefore, we decided to film digital photography first. We found out that the video cam could not play the scenes that we have recorded so far! We were so worried that all our efforts are gone. We went to look for Jack and to our surprise, the scenes are still there. Haha, it turned out that we set the lighting too low that we could not see anything before that.

We are quite happy that the video cam is perfectly fine. But this teaches us to use the video cam wisely in future. Later we will go find Mr Ronald again to get back our work and we will start filming! We will finish our filming by this week and hope to start editing as soon as possible!

hello! (: today we finally started our production after planning up all the pre-production, eg, storyboards, log sheet, call sheet and schedule!

We had planned to shoot all the night scene at one go first, so since is the night scene, all of us met up together at 7.30pm when the sky was getting darker. but before that, all of us did met up for a short discussion on how our filming should go on and the arrangement of the place and time.

7.30pm we met again and decided to film it at Bedok reservoir which was the nearest and had beautiful scenery! we didn't regret for going Bedok reservoir and the surrounding and scene really suit our feeling, background and lighting in what we want in our video (:
all the night scene are Edmund's part, starting we used my own handy camera, but it went flat by just shooting for 2 scenes, so we moved on to the HD camera which we borrowed from the school, and found out that the lighting was actually nicer and was much clearer than my own handy camera.

we decided to re-shoot, all of us did cooperated well (:

throughout the filming, we actually had lots of fun discussing, thinking of the camera angles, helping each other, seeing how Edmund acted, encouraged each other, correcting each other mistake, learned and praised each other!
we had great laughs too with the bloopers we had video down!

i think that Edmund had acted really well, even though we are giggling away behind the scenes! :D

after three hours of filming, we had finished up all the night scenes. even though we re-shoot many times for the same scene, we were satisfied of the outcome and glad there are nice shots and angle taken :D

one thing that we are quite disappointed was that the voice can't be heard, we still cant find the reason, if we transfer to the computer and the voice still can't be heard. we will use voice over! :/

so except for that, i believe all of us had fun filming:D

Haha, I'm around an hour plus late so I shall talk about ytd which was Tuesday, 3rd March.
We met up today in mac lab to discuss about what we going to do. We planned out all the props that we will need for today's filming. The main props that we need are a star box, a book and a brochure. So we decided to find these two things. We bought a small book in the school bookstore and Nadiah will be finding the star-box. For the brochure, we will use photoshop to design a Moving Images (MOI) brochure.

After that, we discussed on the storyboard on how the scenes will be progressed. Yilin mentioned to us all the scenes in details. We moved on to the script. Me and Yilin did the script together as she will be the one having the most lines in it! Haha.

At 3, Nadiah and Yilin went for hnc and during the time, I finished the script. I went home and started doing the brochure with photoshop. I will show Yilin and Nadiah today and hope they are pleased with it. Hope the fliming will be smooth!=)

Hello! Nadiah here! :D

Today our group, Edmund and Me, met up to finalize everything to prepare for our shooting which should start tomorrow! We plan to start filming the night sky scene tomorrow! Hopefully we can finish up the scenes for the night sky by tomorrow!

Yilin was not here today because she was not feeling well. Get well soon Yilin! Take care!

Basically, we have everything ready for shooting already just that we need to confirm the props and the equipments.

Shall update more tomorrow after we have started filming a bit. Consultation for us is on Thursday! :D
